As a senior I am glad to say that I have accumulated many tips to get the semester off on the right foot. This semester however, due to some summer traveling and summer coursework I was unable to complete almost any of them. But usually before any semester I:
- Purchase new school supplies
- take advantage of the sales at Walmart, Target, or Office Depot! Even though they may be aiming for younger kids, it's still nice to only pay $1 for a folder or notebook!
- Print or write out my school schedule
- this one was not accomplished until the first day of school, but can be a huge time saver! I highly recommend this to anyone who has not been on the OU campus long, or has courses in a new department.
- Walk my class schedule
- Since I didn't have time to write it out you can pretty much guess I didn't have time to walk it either... But this can also be a great way to meet people or hang out with friends before classes get going!
- Email professors about books
- This is a money saving tip my friends! So usually student will wait until the first day of class to find out if the book is necessary or not (or like me freshman year, go ahead and order them all). But a fast and easy way to find out and possibly save some money is emailing the professors early. This way you know if you need the book and can have more time to find it at the cheapest price!
I hope these help some of you for next semester and that everyone is successful during this one!
